Due to the COVID-19 pandemic many local nonprofit organizations were forced to cancel their annual fundraising events. The organizations rely heavily on these events to support their cause and budget. While some were fortunate to be able to move to a virtual experience, many could not. Our nonprofit organizations are also struggling due to an overall decrease in giving. The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Locally, the Alzheimer’s Association provides free care and support services including dementia education programs, caregiver support groups, and individualized family care consultations/care planning. Currently, all programs are offered by telephone or video conferencing. Also available is the free 24/7 Helpline available to answer questions about dementia and resource information.
